Determined

Mon Oct 19, 2009, 2:00 AM
I hate being inconsistent.

Seriously. I do. And until now, that's exactly what I've been. I plan to change that.

When I originally made my account on DeviantArt, I never intended to really use it that much, a few graphic designs here, a few pictures there. As time has progressed, I've become more and more enraptured with drawing and painting, and while I hesitate to sound arrogant, I must say, my rate of improvement, in my last four deviations alone, to me, is staggering. Every picture I do, I can feel such a marked improvement, and I love it. Drawing lets me work out some pent up emotions, and it's a marketable skill, one that I feel I could really develop, maybe use in the future.

Long story short, I've decided to commit myself to my artwork and writing. In other words, I want to make it more of a habitual thing, rather then just a recreational one. I plan on expanding my gallery considerably, with portraits, landscapes, concepts, all kinds of stuff. To mark this change, I decided to upgrade my profile, create a personal logo, and plan on committing to a monthly journal. I intend to start spending a lot more time on DA.

Thanks for listening everyone. I'll be seeing you all around. Keep it real.

  • Listening to: Music. I love music. A LOT.
  • Reading: Tons of stuff, too much to list.
  • Watching: Meh, nothing good on. Clone Wars isn't bad though.
  • Playing: Dead Space. Altman be Praised.
  • Eating: Whatever's available... which isn't much.
  • Drinking: Black Cherry soda. It's basically canned awesome.

deviantID

Greetings my fellow Deviants, my name is RiptideX1090, Rip in conversation. For anyone interested in knowing more about me, for whatever reason, allow me to oblige your curiosity.

I'm a man of many interests and talents. I use DeviantArt to express my artistic and creative writing abilities. I take both fairly seriously, and as such I appreciate at least semi-professional feedback, in other words, comments that consist or more than two words. Feel free to remark on anything you want to though, good or bad, I do care about what you have to say.

I use Photoshop for my art. I'm steadily improving at a rate that I'm pretty happy with, and in the future, I plan to accompany all of my artwork with fiction, in order to keep my writing skills strong. I'm into many different things, and I intend to branch out and start drawing a wide array of scenes and characters. Keep coming back, I'll have something for everyone in due course. I've recently decided to take my artistic abilities to a new level, as such, expect a spike in deviations and the like.

In terms of my personality, people tend to dismiss me as a pessimist. I'm not. I'm a realist, I try to analyze things and find the truth, and truth is rarely optimistic. I don't have much in the way of morals, not in the traditional sense, though I do believe very strongly in the freedom of personal choice, as well as cause and consequence. I find most morals are often just another way of impressing one's views onto another by appealing to the abstract of "good" or "right", often with little logical backing, and I don't much care for people pushing their views on me or others. I prefer to accept people as they are, so long as they do not make a habit of obstructing others rights to life, liberty, and property. All I really ask of people is not to judge me based on my beliefs, and I won't judge you on yours. Do that, and we will get along wonderfully. I'm sarcastic, and damn good at it too. I'm also blunt, brutal and honest. Ask me for my opinion, you'll get it. I don't do it to be mean, I do it because honesty is one of the few virtues that I truly do value. I ask for this same courtesy in return, and yes, I do consider having the guts to speak your mind truthfully and often brutally a courtesy.

If you've come here looking for help or advice, I'm always willing to offer some insight. However, I'm also a proponent of self-reliance and determination. I'll offer you my observation and my opinions, but beyond that, you're on your own. I'm not going to make tutorials for you or find things on your behalf. If you really want something, you'll find it on your own, and you'll be better for it.

For anyone with any questions or comments, feel free to send me a note. I always read them, usually within twenty-four hours, and I am always good for a decent conversation, provided you at least use proper grammar. As a personal request, I love comments, long thought out ones, so to anyone who offers me the time and thought it takes to leave one, I want you to know I truly appreciate it, sincerely.

Thank you for your time, I wish you all the best of luck and skill in your future endeavors, and I look foward to seeing you all around. Keep it real.

Oh?

I don't recall you...

Anyway, welcome to DA.

Heh, I've been watching your videos on YouTube for a while, too. Your "Mephiles Dragula" and "Mephiles has WAY too much sugar" videos were awesome - shame they got taken down.
:iconriptidex1090:
Yeah, youtube can be really fickle. Oh well. DA isn't nearly as bad.
